Nicolette Estella Escot, 19 was murdered by her boyfriend Gerard James Williams on Mornington Island in the Gulf of Carpentaria.
Nicolette Estella Escot had been subjected to a severe and prolonged beating & suffered several broken ribs and severe internal bleeding after being attacked by Willams at a house on Mornington Island.
Paramedics found Ms Escot outside a house on Mornington Island with a scrunchie down her throat. She was taken to hospital but later died.
Despite intervention by Williams’ father and brother, they were unable to stop the violence against Ms Escot.
Williams pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to ten years. Williams was described as having mental health issues.
